Privacy Policy
This policy explains how SideBy Studio handles information in the SideByVR Android app, official website, account service and online sample service. Accounts and private media are currently in internal testing.
1. Scope and responsible party
This policy applies to the SideByVR Android app, the official SideByVR website and the free online samples opened from the app or website. SideBy Studio is responsible for operating these services and answering privacy questions. Third-party websites, app stores, Android and network providers apply their own privacy policies.
2. Local media and folder permission
SideByVR uses the Android system folder picker to access only the directory you explicitly authorize and does not request all-files access. The app reads eligible SBS media, ZIP files and subfolders there so it can display and play them. Those local files are not uploaded to SideBy Studio. The authorized folder and last browsing position are stored on your device to restore browsing.
3. Free online samples and cache
The app connects to the SideByVR online service only when you actively open Online samples. It retrieves the public catalog and downloads the sample you choose to view. Downloads are stored in the app’s temporary cache to reduce repeat transfers, and Android may clear that cache when storage is needed. Opening online samples does not upload your local media, folder names or ZIP contents. Files downloaded through the website are stored according to your browser settings.
4. Website access and technical logs
The current website uses no advertising cookies and has no third-party behavioral analytics enabled. Hosting infrastructure for the website and online samples may process standard request information—such as IP address, request time, path, response status, device and browser type—for content delivery, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and security. These infrastructure logs are not used to build SideByVR user profiles.
5. Accounts and private media
Sign-in uses a Google account and Supabase Auth creates a stable SideBy account. The service stores basic account details needed for authentication and display, such as email, display name and avatar information. Signed-in users can upload JPG files to their private media library; each JPG currently uses 1 Credit and the default storage quota is 512 MB. Private media is not published to the public sample catalog.
Users can download completed SBS results from the Android app to the public Pictures/SideByVR folder. Android MediaStore manages this local copy separately from server retention, and users can delete it through the system file manager or gallery.
The app uploads only JPG files the user explicitly selects and confirms. It does not scan other files in an Android-authorized folder. For ZIP batch uploads, the app checks the JPG count locally and creates one job per image.
6. Retention, deletion and permission control
Uploaded JPG inputs are retained for up to 24 hours, and successful SBS results for up to 30 days. Items may be removed earlier when a job changes state or fails. Expired objects are removed from the private library. You can sign out in the app and request media or account deletion through support; local folder records and online caches can be cleared through Android settings.
7. Processing and service providers
Authentication is provided by Supabase Auth, private media objects are stored in Cloudflare R2, and job state and Credit ledger data are stored in Supabase Postgres. The current internal test uses a Cloudflare Worker Dummy Process to validate the workflow: the input image is duplicated into a side-by-side JPG and the job waits about two minutes in Processing. This is not the final AI stereo conversion result; the documentation will be updated before the production processor is enabled.
8. Policy updates
When product features, hosting arrangements or legal requirements materially change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Features that significantly change how information is handled will be clearly explained before they are enabled.
9. Contact and privacy requests
For questions about this policy, device permissions or data handling, email support@sideby.cc.cd. Do not email passwords, payment details, identity documents or sensitive media.
